I have been a Law Enforcement Officer for the past 23 years or so. For the past 12 years or so I have specialized in investigating livestock and agricultural related crimes as a Rural Services Deputy.  In this position, my standard uniform is cowboy boots and jeans which led me to wanting a more western style type of accessories instead of the standard issued black accessories. I decided that I wanted a western looking badge holder so I went to my friend, Billy Malphurs, who is a master saddle maker. We sat down, came up with design and made my badge holder.

 

 I loved it! I went to another friend of mine, Sam Andrews of Andrews Custom Leather,  and told him what style of holster I had in mind. We came up with our “Wrapid -B” holster design which is a law enforcement holster that would include a small badge and extra secure belt snaps.  After working with Billy and Sam, I became interested in the craft of leather making and decided to give it a try.  With the guidance of Sam, I made my own belt and a knife sheath made out of gator skin.  I was addicted!  The products looked amazing while still being functional for day to day wear.

 

My wife decided she also wanted a custom badge holder and holster but wanted a female version and chose the pink (wine) colored frog skin.   Everywhere we went, officers began asking us where they could purchase these same items and so Badge Envy was born. I owe many thanks to Billy Malphurs and Sam Andrews for spending many countless hours teaching me their craft so that I can now offer these quality hand made products for you to enjoy for many, many years!
